Nike and Premier League club Chelsea have unveiled the team’s new away kit for the 2022-23 season. As a continuation of this season’s home kit, the away kit has been designed to pay tribute to one of the most important figures in the club’s history, Ted Drake.
A key feature of the new season is the return of the popular white jerseys, which the team last wore on the road back in the 2019-20 season.
The distinctive “Roaring Blue Lions” motif on the home shirt collar appears in the turquoise horizontal stripes of the away shirt, while the words “Chelsea FC, London” inside the collar are a tribute to the city where the club is based.
Nike jerseys are produced in a sustainable manner, with both player and fan versions made from 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. The plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to make high-quality yarn as part of Nike’s “Move To Zero” commitment to sustainability.
